Mada is Saudi Arabia’s national payment scheme owned by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA). It connects ATMs, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, and eCommerce platforms offered by local banks and licensed FinTechs across Saudi Arabia through a central payment switch, which routes transactions between the merchant’s bank or FinTech and the card issuer’s bank or FinTech. Mada also enables regional and global acceptance, giving cardholders wider acceptance locally and overseas.
A Mada Card is a card issued by SIB that gives you direct access to the funds in your account. You can use it for ATM withdrawals, POS purchases, and online payments, with enhanced security and added features compared to older ATM cards.
